Dear all
We are looking forward to seeing many of you this Sunday as we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost (sometimes known as Whitsunday), remembering the Holy Spirit being poured out upon the disciples and praying for the Spirit to fill our hearts and our parish. Our 9.30 Eucharist will begin with a procession from the West Doors – please do come promptly so you can join us. At Matins, Fr Peter Galloway will be preaching for us, and in the evening, we have our quiet, reflective Taizé Eucharist at 5.30 pm, once again giving thanks for the coming of the Spirit. I do hope you will be able to share in this important feast-day with us. It was an absolute joy to walk around the parish boundary on Tuesday morning with twelve of you, praying Book of Common Prayer Collects at key points on our journey. Photos and the Collects themselves can be found on our website HERE, in case you wish to pray them yourselves when you pass the Palace, the Embassies, the Tube station, the school, etc. It was very uplifting to share in the experience and to hold the parish in prayer. If you haven’t yet booked your free ticket for the talk by Fr Evan and Fr Tony of the Carmelites, reflecting on Easter, Ascension and Pentecost through works of art at the Carmelite Church on Kensington Church at 10 am this coming Saturday, there are still some available from our website HERE. May I also remind you of the two piano recitals coming up in the church in June – these will include some wonderful pieces from a wide variety of composers (see HERE). Half of the money raised through ticket sales also comes to the church to support our work, worship and upkeep. Generous God, you sent your Holy Spirit upon your Messiah at the river Jordan, and upon the disciples in the upper room; in your mercy fill us with your Spirit, hear our prayer and make us one in heart and mind to serve you with joy forever. Amen [Common Worship, Times and Seasons, Pentecost] With my love and prayers Mother Emma 16th May 2024 |
